My personal journey with Crohn's disease since the age of 12 has given me invaluable first-hand experience. Currently in deep remission, I understand the delicate balance required to manage a chronic condition while striving for optimal well-being. The Exercise Referral Process

Starting an exercise program, especially with a health condition, needs a thoughtful and supportive approach. Here’s how we’ll work together to create a plan that’s right for you:

Step 2: Health Measurements – A Baseline for Progress

 

After our consultation, we’ll take a series of relevant health measurements. These might include:

  • Anthropometric data: Like height, weight, and body composition (if appropriate and you’d like).

  • Cardiovascular fitness assessments: Gentle and safe tests to see your current heart health.

  • Mobility and functional movement assessments: To spot any stiffness, weakness, or imbalances we can work on.

  • Blood pressure monitoring: A key indicator for many health conditions.

These measurements give us a vital baseline, letting us track your progress objectively and celebrate your achievements as you move towards your goals. 

 

Step 3: Programming – Your Personalised Exercise Prescription

 

With a clear understanding of your health, goals, and measurements, I'll meticulously design an exercise programme just for you. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution; it’s a carefully crafted “exercise prescription” that takes into account your specific health condition, medication, energy levels, and personal preferences. Your programme will be designed to be safe, effective, progressive, and most importantly, enjoyable. It will focus on helping you manage your condition, improve your well-being, and empower you to move with greater confidence and ease. We’ll discuss the thinking behind each exercise to make sure you feel comfortable and informed.

 

Step 4: Personal Training – In-Person or Online, Your Choice

 

Once your personalised programme is ready, we’ll start our personal training sessions. You get to choose the option that best fits your lifestyle and needs:

  • In-Person Personal Training: If you prefer direct, hands-on guidance and face-to-face interaction, our in-person sessions offer a dedicated and supportive environment. I’ll be there to guide you through each exercise, ensuring correct form, giving immediate feedback, and making real-time adjustments to optimise your workout.

  • Online Personal Training: This is ideal if you have a busy schedule, live far away, or simply prefer the convenience of exercising from home. Through video calls and a dedicated platform, I’ll demonstrate exercises, observe your technique, and provide clear, concise instructions and encouragement. We’ll stay in regular contact to ensure you feel supported, accountable, and confident in doing your programme.

No matter if you choose in-person or online, our sessions will be a collaborative and empowering experience, consistently focused on your well-being and progress. We’ll regularly review your progress, make any necessary adjustments to your programme, and celebrate every step of your journey towards a healthier, more vibrant you.

Step 1: The Initial Consultation – Understanding Your Unique Needs

 

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation, which we can do either online or in person. This is where we’ll dive deep into your medical history, current health, any diagnoses you have, and most importantly, your personal goals and aspirations. We’ll talk about your lifestyle, past exercise experiences, and any concerns or limitations you might have. This initial chat is about building trust and ensuring I have a complete picture to tailor your support effectively.
